In today’s world, everyone goes through mental turmoil and the physical health is adversely affected. This is happening in rural areas as well and therefore it is important to provide good healthcare in villages, the seer said.

Miasra Education Trust chairperson Manmatha Bhat said that the organisation has been established with the very objective of providing quality health services to rural people. The construction is likely to be completed within a year. Zilla Panchayat member P P Vargese, Taluk Panchayat member P Y Kusuma, Mardala Gram Panchayat president Lalita Satish and others were present for the ceremony.

A free medical camp was held by KMC Hospital Mangaluru in association with the Indian Red Cross Society and the Rotary Club Puttur on the occasion.

Miasra Education Trust is an NGO based in Dakshina Kannada and intends to build the 400-bedded state-of-the-art hospital, facilitated with a laboratory, a diagnostic centre and 10 incubators. Expert doctors and trained nursing staff will be available. The services will be provided to the rural population at affordable rates, stated a press release. As no good medical facilities are available in the surrounding areas, this hospital will be a boon to the local people.
