Mulki: Students demand CBI probe into Ratna Kottari case

Mulki, July 17, 2014:  ABVP member students from Mulki Vijaya College, organised a protest meet at the Mulki bus stand area on July 16, Wednesday demanding the handing over of the Ratna Kottari case to the CBI and also to provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the girl.

Addressing the students, Manjunath HS, President of the Students Union of the College urged for a fair investigation into the case. He also alleged that there was a breakdown of law and order machinery in the state. He suspected that some unscrupulous elements might have taken undue advantage of the innocence of Ratna. He further warned of a severe protest by the student community if the demand was not conceded to.

A minute’s silence was also observed in respect of the departed soul of Ratna. A memorandum was later submitted to the State Chief Minister and Home Minister through the Special Tahsildar.

Prior to the meet, students took out a protest march in the town.
