Mangaluru, Mar 15, 2015:  Mudipu  reeled under tension on March 14, Saturday night after a  group of Hindu activists waylaid a  bus carrying students of   the Mudipu Government College who were on an educational tour to Bengaluru and Mysore. The sole reason for the moral policing by Bhajrangdal activists was that the students who were  on tour included boys and girls of different communities.

It is learnt that nearly 300 Bhajrangdal activists almost  created havoc by stoning the bus which was carrying 38  students of I BA and B.Com of the college. There were even four lecturers   in the bus. Police had to resort to a lathi charge to disperse the  crowd which had even broken the windshield of th bus. The stone pelting even injured a KSRP personnel. It is learnt the assailants even hurled soda bottles at nearby shops.

The tour had to be cancelled after police who rushed to the spot requested the college management. If the girls were sent home, the boys spent the night at the college.

Security has been tightened in the area following the incident.
