Motorbike fatally knocks down Mandya school teacher at Nantoor Junction

Mangaluru, Oct 16, 2018: A teacher from Mandya district who was part of a team of 40 teachers from his district  who  had arrived here  to attend a Kannada workshop organised by Azeem Premji Foundation, died after he was knocked down by a  KTM motorbike near Nantoor Junction on October 14, Sunday night.

 

The deceased is Shashidhar (44) from Bookanakere. He and his friends from Mandya were walking on the roadside  at around 9.30 pm on Sunday when the tragedy  struck near Padua. The bike rider  was trying to overtake another vehicle when the two-wheeler hit Shashidhar who was seriously injured and later died in the hospital on Monday.

 The bike rider Merwyn Jaiker has been booked for causing the accident. The deceased Shashidhar was a teacher of Bookanakere Government School.
