More than 40 speed breakers expected in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2016:  People’s representatives, traffic cops and officials from the  MCC -Mangaluru City Corporation toured the city on Jan 8, Friday to understand traffic woes and to chalk out a plan to improve the infrastructure to resolve them.

speed breakeMangaluru City South MLA JR Lobo, ACP (traffic) Uday Nayak ACP and MCC commissioner HN Gopalkrishna visited various places in the city. They say they have come up with four proposals to resolve traffic woes and for the beautification of the city. A team of engineers and workers will undertake repair works and remove unwanted hurdles like stones and poles,  once in 15 days. A proposal has also been sent to construct at least 40 speed breakers at strategic locations to avoid accidents. A few bus stops will be shifted from their current locations ( though often private buses do not respect fixed stops)  and there is also a plan to build footpaths with space for parking vehicles in some places.

The officials and MLA inspected Hampankatta, Jyothi and Dr Ambedkar circles and Nanthur junction for now.
