Moodbidri all set for Alva’s Virasat-2015 from Dec 24 to 27

Mangaluru, Dec 22, 2015 :  The 2015 edition of Alva’s Virasat a national level cultural  festival will be held at the  Vanajakshi K Sripathi Bhat open air auditorium at Vivekananda Nagara, Puttige in Moodbidri from December 24 to 27.


alva’s nudisiriInforming this to reporters here, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, organisers of the event said  renowned playback singer Padmashree Dr  S.P. Balasubramaniam will be conferred the Alva’s Virasat Award 2015 during the inaugural ceremony.

The Virasat will be inaugurated by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D Veerendra Heggade while N. Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, will preside over the function.

The inaugural day will feature a  violin fusion named ’Naadasurabhi’ by  Dr Mysuru Manjunath, Mysuru Nagaraj, Vidwan Kumaresh Chennai and Vidwan Ganesh. This will be followed by a much awaited musical orchestra by S.P. Balasubrahmaniam.

The second day of Virasat will   feature a ’Raagarangoli’ by eminent Saxophonist Dr Kadri Gopalanathan. There will also be Qawwali and Soofi songs programme by  Ustad Munawar Masoom and Team from Mumbai.

A ’Naadasangama’ by Kalaimaamani Shivamani will be held on December 26 followed by cultural programmes by Alva’s  students.

The Alva’s Varnasiri Virasat-2015 Award will be presented to Padmashree Dr Manu Parekh from New Delhi during the valedictory to be held on December 27, Sunday.
