Moodbidri: Youth drowns in pond at Belvai

Mangaluru, Dec 20, 2015: A 17-year-old youth died on Sunday evening after he drowned in a pond at Belvai near Moodbidri outside city limits. The police identified the deceased as Akash Rai, son of BJP leader Manjunath Rai, a resident of Kotebagilu in Moodbidri.

 

He was the first year BCom student of Mahaveer College, Moodbidri. The tragedy took place when Akshay and his friend have been to the pond for swimming. It is learnt that Akshay lost balance and drowned in the water.

His body was shifted to Moodbidri government hospital for post mortem. Moodbidri police have registered a case.
