Moodbidri: Engineering student commits suicide

Moodbidri,Dec 11, 2014: A student of the MV Shetty Engineering College has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near his house  in the town on December 10, Wednesday.  The suspicion is that depression over poor performance in exams might have driven him to the extreme step.

The deceased is  Pawan Acharya, a third year B.E. (Computer Science) student  who hailed from   Chikmagalur. He was the  youngest of the four sons of Vasudeva Acharya.

It has been gathered that Pawan who did not attend college on Wednesday had first tried to hang himself. But when it failed, he jumped into the well  nearby. He was staying in a rented house of Shantiprakash near Kerebasadi
 Moodbidri police are investigating the case.
