Moodabidri: 24 year old girl subjected to dowry harassment, case registered

Moodabidri, April 16, 2015: Following a complaint by a newlywed 24 years girl, who was subjected to assault and mental torture by her husband and relatives in Maroor village near Moodabidri of Mangalore taluk. Bantwal town police registered a case against three persons.

Police registered case under various Acts pertaining to cruelty by Husband and relatives, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Dowry Prohibition Act along with CrPC.

Bantwal police arrested Shahul Hameed, husband of the victim Shaima Fathima. They also booked case against his relatives Hajarabhi (55) and Mohammad Kunhi.

Shaima Fathima in his complaint has narrated that they abused her with filthy language and assaulted her by hand and gave physical and mental harassment  demanding to bring more dowry and also gave life threat to her.
