Monkeys found poisoned to death in Agumbe Ghat area

Hebri, Oct 27, 2017: Over 20 monkeys were found poisoned to death   at Seetanadi Nadpalu Someshwara forest in Agumbe  Ghat area on October 26, Thursday night.

 

At around  9 pm on Thursday   the   monkeys were found battling for life on the road side of Agumbe Ghat. Though  a group of local youth tried to rescue the monkeys by providing them water it was of no avail.

The suspicion is that someone had poisoned the monkeys which used to trespass into inhabited areas and then dumped them in the Ghat area.

 Hebri forest officials visited the spot and disposed off the bodies of the monkeys.

A similar incident was reported from Kabbinale near Hebri recently.
