Miscreants pelt stones at Pejawar seer’s car at Belagavi

Udupi, Oct 20, 2015: The Innova car belonging to  Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt which was parked in front of the  Sri Krishna Mutt at Belagavi  was damaged by  miscreants during the wee hours of October 20, Tuesday. Miscreants also damaged two other vehicles belonging to the seer’s entourage.

The  Pejawar Swamiji had arrived in Belagavi to participate in a three-day long event at the Mutt there after attending a programme at Ghataprabha in Gokak.  The incident took place at around 2 am when some unidentified miscreants began to pelt stones at the three vehicles. The driver of the Innova car who heard the sound rushed to the spot. However, by then the miscreants had fled the place in three bikes.

Local police are investigating the case.  The motive behind the attack on the seer’s car is not yet ascertained.
