Minor sexual harassment case : One person arrested in Bengaluru

Kundapur, June 7,2017 : Police have arrested one of the three persons who have been accused of sexually harassing a minor girl who is now battling for life at KMC Hospital in Manipal  after consuming rat poison a few days ago.

The arrested person has been identified as Vinay Shetty Mailgodu(29). The arrest was made in Bengaluru. 

The girl’s statement was recorded on Tuesday in the presence of judicial magistrate and   lady police personnel of Amasebail station. Already a POCSO case has been registered.

The other accused in this case are Prasad Hegde and Prashanth Hegde. The girl is learnt to have told the magistrate that the trio used to harass her since the past two months and had coerced her to love them.

 

She also stated that Prasad had telephoned her on June 2  asking her to come to Bengaluru and threatened that  her parents would be harmed if she did not pay heed to them. This had  made the hapless girl attempt suicide.

The girl is the only daughter of  her parents who are agricultural labourers.  She has completed SSLC and used to attend tailoring classes apart from helping clean cashewnuts at home.
