Minister asks Yakshagana troupes to gear up for annual tours from November end

Mangaluru, Oct 07, 2020:   Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has asked Yakshagana Melas to prepare for the  annual  Thirugata or Yakshagana tours which are likely to be allowed  from November end onwards by duly adhering to Covid guidelines.

 

 

He was speaking   at a meeting held at DC office auditorium on October 6, Tuesday.

Noted Yakshagana Bhagawatha Patla Satish Shetty, artistes Ujire Ashok Bhat and others highlighted the plight of Yakshagana artistes  due to the suspension of shows this time  and urged for government help to the distressed artistes.

Hari Asranna, Kateel Temple Managing Trustee also spoke on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra and other  officials were present.
