Minister Sorake details Rs 1.5 crore proposal to develop Kaup

Udupi, Dec 9, 2014: District-in-Charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that a Rs 1.5 crore proposal has been prepared towards the road development works in Kaup legislative constituency, said Udupi District-in-Charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.   He was chairing an action plan committee meeting of Taluk Task Force at Udupi Taluk Panchayat Hall on December 8,  Monday.


vinay kumar sorake  1A grant of Rs 61.3 lakh has already been released to Taluk action plan committee. But, based on the demands of various Gram Panchayats, a new proposal has been drafted and accordingly a discussion will be held with ministers concerned for additional grants for development works, he said. Sorake meanwhile directed the officials concerned to complete the road development work in the four villages of Kaup legislative constituency which have been included in Suvarna Grama Scheme. He added that all roads in the constituency will be developed.  The site allocation is in progress, he said and added that a state-of-the art waste management plant will be started in Alevoor.

A project worth Rs 51 Lakh has been chalked out towards the drinking water supply in Kaup and approval for an underground development work worth Rs 32 crore has been obtained. The sanctioning of Nada Kacheri in Hiriyadka has been done. A proposal towards setting up a Nada Kacheri in Shirva has been submitted to Revenue minister and approval is likely to be given soon. Plans are on to establish Assistant Commissioners offices in Udupi after the formation of Brahmavar and Baindur taluks.

Taluk Panchayat President Sunitha Nayak, Vice President Ganesh Kumat, Executive Officer Rajendra Bekal, Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat members from the constituencies were present.
