Minister Basavaraja Rayareddy distributes free laptops to SC/ST students

Mangaluru, Jan 06, 2018: Free laptops provided by the state government  for SC/ST students studying in the government first grade colleges and polytechnics of the district were distributed  to the beneficiary students  by State Minister for Higher Education Basavaraja Rayareddy at a function held at Town Hall on January 6, Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said  around 31,800 students including 650 students from the district will benefit  from this scheme.    By next month the government intends to distribute free laptops to around 1.50 students of all  categories   studying in degree, post graduate, polytechnics and first year engineering courses, he added.

JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South presided over the function. DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai, Mangaluru North MLA Moidin Bava, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof K  Bhyrappa,  State Cashew Development Corporation Chairman  B H Khader, TP Chief Mohammad Monu and others were present.
