Minister Anjaneya to spend night in Koraga village

Mangaluru, Apr 14, 2016: It is reported that pursuing his village stay programme, Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya has decided to spend April 15, Friday night at the residence of a Koraga family at Kerekadu village at Kenchanakere in Mulki hobli under the Moodbidri Assembly constituency in Dakshina Kannada.


Minister Anjan...The Koragas, a tribal community, are residing in a colony at Kerekadu.

To mark the 125th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar this year, the Social Welfare Department has decided to conduct simple marriages, including inter-caste marriages involving Scheduled Caste couples, in all the four administrative zones of the State. Under the scheme, the department would provide financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh to those couples where one spouse belongs to the SC community.
