Mangaluru, Oct 01 2019: "Development cannot be achieved merely through slogan shouting. The nation can see development only if the Gandhian era returns," said noted poet and retired professor Satyanarayana Rao Anathi.
He was participating in a seminar on Gandhiji’s "Hind Swaraj" at the Shivaram Karanth Auditorium of Mangalore University College on October 1. The event was organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi under the aegis of Mangalore University and University College.
"Gandhiji was never after power, but his only objective was to secure freedom for India. He moved among the people and motivated people to be a part of the freedom struggle," he said.
