Medical store raided for selling intoxicant medicines without prescription

Mangaluru, Sep 28,2017: Acting on a tip off, the Panambur police, on September 27, Wednesday raided the  P K S Health Cure Medical shop close by the Sharada Vidyalaya and seized intoxicating tablets and syrups worth nearly Rs 30,000 which were sold without any prescription from doctors.

medicinesThe raid followed the arrest of a youth named Mohammad Azhar (23) from Bajilakeri near Bunder on September 25 on the charges of ganja consumption near Tannirbavi. Police also found  intoxicating  medicines like Tossex syrup and Nitravet-10 tables in his pocket. On questioning he revealed about the medical store that sold medicines at higher prices without prescriptions.

Accordingly, a constable in civil dress went to the particular shop and sought the particular medicine. Just when the shop people were handing over the medicine the police raided the place. The seized medicines included  30 bottles of Chloropheniramine and Tossex syrups and  20 strips of Nitravet-10 tablets.
