Medical negligence blamed for death of pregnant woman in Vittal Govt Hospital

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2015:  A pregnant woman who was admitted to the Government Hospital at Vittal for delivery on October 26, Monday has  died the same night along with her unborn child.  The reason behind her death is not known.

Meanwhile, her family members have accused the hospital authorities of negligence resulting in the death of the woman.

The deceased is Girija (26), wife of Ramesh. Girija was admitted to the hospital for her second delivery. However when  she did not get labour pains until night, the nurses reportedly asked her to walk around. It is said she was declared dead 15 minutes after she was taken to the labour ward.

Her family members allege that the doctors have failed to give any reason for her sudden death and even claimed that she had no health problems as such.

The body of Girija   has been brought to Mangaluru for a post-mortem at the Government Wenlock Hospital on October 27, Tuesday.
