Mechanised boat fishing to be permitted in 2 days: Udupi DC

Udupi, May 3, 2020: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has informed that mechanised boat fishing will be permitted in Udupi district in another two days consequent upon the declaration of the district as a Green Zone after no fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported from the district in the past several days.

The Deputy Commissioner who spoke to reporters here on May 3, Sunday said while fishing will be permitted, social distancing  has to be practised and that only  30 boats will be permitted in a day. The boats have to maintain distance while unloading fish, he said adding no fish auction or sale can take place in the port. All the fish have to be loaded to lorries and taken to the markets for sale, the DC informed.
