Mangaluru, Jan 09, 2016:  Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi president Shruthi Hegde said  The ’Brahmasthana Mahotsava’ and ’Amritasangama 2016’ will be held at Amrita Vidyalayam Grounds near Sulthan Battery on January 9 and 10 in the presence of Mata Amritanandamayi.

Spiritual discourse, Bhajans and guided meditation will be held as part of the event. Mata Amrithanandamayi will also give Darshan to the devotees.

Samithi former president Dr Jeevraj Sorake said that, on January 9, there will be a guided meditation at 5.30 am, Lalita Sahasranama Archana at 6 am, Rahu Dosha Nivarana Puja at 8 am and Satsang by Amma at 11 am. The Satsang by Amma will include Bhajans, Pravachan, Manasa Puja, meditation and individual Darshan. Shani Dosha Nivarana Puja will be held at 8 am on January 10. The stage programme on January 9 will be attended by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade, Minister for Forest B Ramanath Rai, Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader and others. Devotees who arrive before 9.30 am for Darshan of Amma will be given a time card, with different colour, to ascertain their arrival time. After the satsang commences, they will be issued tokens, which are essential even for small children.

Buses will ply from the Amrita Vidyalayam on both the days for the convenience of the public, free of cost, after the programme. Participants will also receive free food and clean drinking water, said Sorake.

He added that scholarships will be handed over to the deserving students along with financial assistance to poor women. Around 10 government schools in and around the Sultan Battery area will be given water purifying units on the occasion. The firm which supplies the water purifier will maintain it lifelong free of cost. The Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi has decided to install such purifying units in around 68 schools in Mangaluru taluk. To create awareness among the students on the segregation of waste and recycling of the same, 10 schools in the vicinity of Sultan Battery will be provided waste bins with three colours.
