Martyrs Day observed at Nitte Deemed to be University

Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2020: Those who have sacrificed their lives for the nation other than the sake of political and religious issues are greatest person of the nation. He felt that such a program would be inspiring to join the youth community to the army. He spoke at an observance held at the University Hall, paneer campus of the University under the auspices of the NSS unit of Nitte deemed to be University.

The Chief Guest, Colonel A K Jayaprakashan, addresses the gathering and said that the Indian Army has ample opportunities to serve for the nation and the young people should be prepared for it.


On the occasion honoured Colonel A K Jayaprakashan and wife of Late. Naik Lokanna Shetty who enrolled at the age of eighteen and courageously gave his service in World War II. He has been awarded the Indian Service medal and War Medal during his service period. 

Prof. Dr. M S Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Dr. Alka Kulkarni, Registrar, Nitte DU welcomed the gathering and Prof. Dr. Sumalatha R Shetty, NSS Coordinator, Nitte DU were presented vote of thanks on this occasion.
