Maroli Sooryanarayana Shrine to celebrate Brahmakalashotsava

Mangaluru, April 14, 2016 : The Brahmakalashotsava of Mangaluru’s famous Shree Sooryanarayana Temple at Maroli will be held from April 17 to 26.This was informed to reporters here on April 13, Wednesday by  Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Nalin also stated that  the renovation  of the  temple was initiated four years ago and that  nearly  Rs 15 crore has been spent towards renovation so far.He said various religious rituals as well as cultural programmes are lined up during the Brahmakalashotsava celebrations.

Various dignitaries including DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai,  Sports Minister Abhayachandra Jain, Mayor Harinath, Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde  Legislators JR Lobo, Angara, MLCs  Capt Ganesh Karnik and Kota Srinivas Poojary will grace the functions on different days. 
As many as 26 committees have been formed to oversee the   successful conduct of the ceremonies and that elaborate arrangements have also been made for the convenience of the  devotees, the MP stated.

He said nearly 10 lakh people are expected to visit the temple during  the festivities.

Temple management committee  leaders Giridhar Shetty, KP Shetty, Balakrishna Kottari and Jagannath Shetty Bala were present.
