Maritally engaged young woman dies in bike-tanker hit

Bantwal, Mar 21, 2015 : In a tragic accident reported from BC Road on March 20, Friday, a to-be-bride who was pillion riding a bike along with her fiancé   lost her life  when their two-wheeler was hit by a tanker  from the rear.

It is learnt, the young woman named Deepthi Rai (24) who fell on to the road, sustained serious injuries.Though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, doctors there pronounced her dead.

Vinod however sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Deepthi was the daughter of Umesh Rai of Perla. Both she and Vinod who were maritally engaged were on way to  Mangaluru from Kasargod to meet  Umesh who worked for Rai Estate.

 

The tanker was said to be over speeding. Bantwal police have detained its driver and have registered a case.
