Manipal: School of Health science to conduct workshop on Sports Injury Prevention

Manipal: September 5, 2015: Department of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences will conduct a national workshop on sports injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to play from September 5 to 7 on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Week. Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University Dr H.S. Ballal will be the chief guest at the inaugural function. Dr Poornima Baliga, Dean KMC, Manipal will be the guest of honour.

Heath Mathews, head, sport physiotherapist at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Ashish Kaushik, consultant sports medicine in the same hospital and Ganesh B, assistant professor, physiotherapy, Manipal University will conduct the sessions. This will be followed by an international conference on September 11 and 12 on assessment and management of diabetic foot.

Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University Dr H Vinod Bhat will be the chief guest at the inaugural function. Dr Edward Jude, diabetic foot specialist, Tameside HGS Hospital, UK will be the international speaker at the conference.

Research grant of World Diabetic Foundation under the Dr T M A Pai Chair in Exercise Science and Health promotion will be launched on this occasion.
