Mango, Jackfruit fest at Kadri Park from May 19

Mangaluru, May 17,2017 : The Department of Horticulture, DK Zilla Panchayat,  Karnataka Mango Development and  Marketing  Corporation, Bengaluru and Agricultural Sciences Centre, Mangaluru will be jointly organising a Mango and Jackfruit Fest, an exhibition cum sale event, at Kadri Park from May 19 to 25.

State Forest Minister  and DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai will inaugurate the event at  a function to be held at 3 pm on May 19.    MLA of Mangaluru South JR Lobo will preside over the function.

State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Vasanth Bangera, MLA of Belthangady, Meenakshi Shantigodu, ZP Chief  and Shakuntala Shetty, Puttur MLA will be the chief guests.

The event provides a golden opportunity for growers to display  the different varieties of mango as well as jackfruits  while also helping them directly market their produce. The consumers on their part get  an opportunity  to purchase safely ripened fruits.
