Mangaluru ushers in New Year with joy

Mangaluru, Jan 1, 2015 : The city of Mangaluru welcomed   the New Year 2015 with  pomp and merriment  as the clock struck 12. Despite strict guidelines issued by the city police Commissionerate, enthusiastic people of Mangaluru  ushered in the New Year with  celebrations galore. The skies of the city were lit up with fireworks denoting the joy of the people  who ardently wish that  the New Year would bring peace, happiness and prosperity for all.

New Year Parties were hosted by several  hotels and resorts in the city and its outskirts and people, both young and old alike were seen partying to their heart’s content, not forgetting the directive of the police to end the celebrations by 12.30 am.

In the meantime, there are reports that a “Terror Party” planned by Team RDX near Morgansgate was not allowed  as the organisers of the event were not able to produce valid documents, while even the Karavali Utsav party planned by the district administration did not get underway for  some reason.
