Mangaluru to be fully shut, plans to deliver essentials at doorsteps: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru, March 25, 2020: In a major development, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that Mangaluru will be totally shut from  Thursday and no one would be allowed to step out of their house. He  said efforts were underway to put in place a system to deliver essentials at the doorsteps of the public.

The move comes in the wake of the heavy rush outside grocery stores and markets in various places of the city with people thronging the places to buy essentials least bothered about social distancing.

In view of large number of patients from Kerala entering Dakshina Kannada district  resulting in overcrowding in hospitals here, the MP said no ambulance or vehicle  will be allowed from other districts into Dakshina Kannada. All vehicles from across the border will be intercepted at Talapady, he said.
