Mangaluru moral policing : Cops arrest 15 right wing activists

Mangaluru: August 25, 2015: It has been reliably gathered that as many as 15 activists of right wing organisations have been arrested on the charges of stripping and assaulting a man after tying him to a pole  at Attavar on August 24, Monday.

Earlier reports indicated that the man was beaten up in an inhuman fashion for being in the company of a girl belonging to another community in his car. The victim was hospitalised following the incident.

In the meantime, sources have revealed that the girl who was seen in the company of the man who was thrashed has now lodged a police complaint alleging that he was blackmailing her.

The victim of assault however had said that  the girl was outside the car while he was inside and that he had only given some money to the girl.

The man was stripped, paraded in a busy area and then tied to the electric pole and beaten up. Police rushed to the spot when the photos of the incident went viral on social sites and were even flashed on local channels.

In the meantime, the father of the victim youth has claimed that his son was innocent. He said his son who was a supermarket store manager where even the girl worked had  withdrew money from the ATM and was attacked while he was handing over the cash to the girl who had earlier called him asking for Rs 2000. He also alleged that there was a conspiracy against his son.
