Mangaluru kites fly in Dubai

Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2015: Kites from Mangaluru flew in Dubai a few days ago attracting many visitors.

 

 

A four-member group of kite flyers from Team Mangaluru has retuned to the city after participating in the four-day Dubai International Kite Festival at Jumeira Beach from January 29.

They participated in the festival on an invitation from Classic Concepts Event Management Co., a release said. The team members were Sarvesh Rao, Nitin Shetty, Subhash Pai and Satish Rao. In all, 87 participants from 25 countries participated in the event. 

The kites that the team flew included Vibhishana, Garuda, Pushpaka Vimana, Gajaraja, Yakshagana, Charlie and Kathakali Series. About 100 kites tied to one string attracted the crowd at the beach, it said.

Local people took photographs with team members. Many Indians residing in Dubai also helped the team members in flying the huge kites.
