Mangaluru district jail raided by CCB police, August 25

Mangaluru, Aug 26, 2017: Mangaluru city’s district jail, on MG road, was raided by Crime Branch (CCB) police party on August 25, Friday, following complaints from the public that law is being violated in the prison to get number of  things including ganja from outside.

The raid was conducted following an order from Mangaluru City Police Commissioner TR Suresh by a police team led by DCP Hanumantharaya, ACP Valentines D’Souza and CCB SP Shyam Sunder.

In an unrelated incident inside the jail, an assault case registered at Barke police station after a group of prisoners attacked the prisoner, Abid Hassan (25) who was sentenced to jail inconnection with cow theft case. Injured prisoner has been admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
