Mangaluru beauty crowned ’Miss Climate 2019’ in New Delhi

Mangaluru, Dec 29, 2019: Shwetha Rao, hailing from Mangaluru, was crowned ‘Miss Climate 2019’ in the second edition of the beauty pageant held in New Delhi recently. The pageant was organised by Green Mentors.

Runners-up - Kinkshook Gairola of Dehradun emerged as first runner-up while Ojasvy Chandhok from Delhi was declared second runner-up.

Twenty-three-year-old Shwetha is an information science engineer from NMAMIT, Nitte, and a young india fellow from Ashoka University, Haryana.

She is currently working as an assistant manager in a multi-national company in Gurgaon.

Shwetha is the daughter of  Savithri and Manoj Rao from Ashoknagar in Mangaluru.

Miss Climate 2019 is the first-of-its-kind pageant which is themed as ‘Beauty with Responsibility’.
The event will serve as Global Ambassador of Climate Change.

A total of 16 most climate conscious women with a beautiful personality from a pool of more than 1,000 contestants belonging to different parts of India, were chosen for their remarkable contribution towards environment in their surroundings.  It is indeed a feather in the cap of Mangaluru in the struggle to maintain it’s historic dwindling green environment.
