He was speaking after inaugurating World Population Day programme organised at the Ravindra Kala Bhavan of Mangalore University College on July 11, Thursday under the aegis of the DK District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Health and Family Welfare Department, District Wenlock Hospital and NSS unit of Mangalore University College.
Pointing out that improved health facilities have helped in reducing infant mortality and also increasing life span, he said at the same time there is a need to check environment pollution and water pollution. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect natural resources, he said adding our population should be a valued human resource.
Dr Uday Kumar, Principal of Mangalore University College presided over the function. Dr Yogish Kairodi, Lecturer in Alva’s First Grade College was the resource person. District Health Officer Dr M Ramakrishna Rao and others were present.
