Mangaluru : Urwa cops arrest bike thief at Kuntikan

Mangaluru, May 10, 2016 : Urwa police have arrested a youth on the charges  of   stealing a motor bike parked in front of the court complex in the city recently.

The accused has been identified as Raghavendra Bhat (28), son of Sadashiva Bhat of Konchady.

The Urwa cops who were on a routine checking of vehicles at Kuntikan  stopped the Bajaj Pulsar bike which the accused was riding and found that he had no documents pertaining to the vehicle nor gave any satisfactory reply to them. On further questioning, he admitted that the bike was stolen by him from the court complex compound nearly  three weeks ago.

The stolen bike belonged to an advocate named Raviraj.  During interrogation of the accused,  it came to light that he had also stolen computer, battery and inverter from the Redrocks Real Estate Office near Bajpe a few months ago.

Police have  seized  the vehicle and other valuables worth Rs one lakh from the accused.

 He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
