Mangaluru : Undertrial, cop test positive

Mangaluru, June 30, 2020:    An undertrial  at the Mangaluru Central prison as well as a  policeman attached to the Mangaluru Rural Police Station who was earlier serving Ullal station, have tested positive for Covid-19.

 

As the undertrial was suffering from some mental ailment he was admitted to Wenlock for treatment. It is believed  he was infected there. Even a police man who was  deputed on security duty after the under trial was admitted, has been quarantined as a precautionary measure.

A policeman attached to Mangaluru Rural Station at Vamanjoor has tested positive. He was earlier serving Ullal station. It is suspected that he contracted the infection from an accused who had later tested positive in Ullal. The cop has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
