Mangaluru: Top media awards for Sukesh Kumar Shetty, Vishwanath Suvarna

Mangaluru, Dec 1, 2018: Sukesh Kumar and Vishwanath Suvarna are the two city based recipients among 51 journalists chosen from across Karnataka state for the 2018 edition of the Madhyama Academy Awards.

Madhyama Academy Award is a prestigious annual recognition which carries Rs 25,000/- along with mementos. 51 journalists of the state will receive the award for 2018.

Sukesh Kumar, who presently serves as the Mangalore correspondent of Kasturi News has worked for popular media banners like Karavali Ale, Janavahini, ETV and TV 9.

Vishwanath Suvarna was a photo journalist of Prajavani daily. Following retirement, he is now settled in Bengaluru. His recently released coffee table book ‘Karunada Kotegala Suvarna Nota’, which is a comprehensive study of most of the historically significant forts of Karnataka, has won widespread critical acclaim.
