Mangaluru: Three arrested on charges of theft

Mangaluru, Nov 02, 2017 : City Crime Branch police have arrested three persons includind a woman on November 02, Thursday, who were allegedly involved in the several theft cases in the city.

 

Sandeep (23), Vijwal Poojary (23) and Gunavati (48) are identified as the arrested. All the three are the residents of Katipalla in Suratkal.

Police sources said that there were various cases against Jayanath. He was a wanted criminal in murder cases too. It is learnt that Jayanth with the help of Vijwal and Gunavathi used to pledge the robbed ornaments at finances in Suratkal. 131 grams of gold ornaments, a mobile phone, artificial jewellery, knife, iron rod, Bajaj Pulsar bike and Mahindra Bolero, Rs 15,000 cash a total worth of  Rs 8,44,657 was seized from them.

The arrested are being handed over to Kavoor police station for further investigation.
