Mangaluru: Technology upgrade improves access to govt services

Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2015: Speaking at a workshop on e-governance  at DC’s office hall in Mangaluru on March 20,  E-governance Centre, Bengaluru, Project Director Prabhakar said that the application of technology in government offices will facilitate easy accessibility of services to people.  He added that E-governance projects have been implemented since 2003.

DK DC IbrahimThe salary system of all government employees have been computerised through HRMS. Also, more than five lakhs of development works, purchase and transactions are being managed through e-procurement. Transactions worth Rs 2.50 lakh crore have been carried out so far. Centre has announced that Rs one lakh crore for e-governance management. Hence, more departments will be technologically upgraded soon.

E-governance makes it possible for the citizens to submit applications from any where.  Through mobile one application introduced by the state government, as many as 4000 services could be availed and more  services will be added in future.   DK DC Ibrahim inaugurated the programme, Lakshmikanth, H S Shankar and Shrinivas Reddy from the department of E-governance were the resource persons.
