Mangaluru: Taxi drivers’ association to stage protest against Ola.

Mangaluru: July 2, 2015: Dakshina Kannada Taxi Men’s and Maxicab Association will stage a protest against taxi aggregator Ola in the city on Friday July 3. A taxi rally will be held from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan at 9.30am.

Association president K Monappa Bhandary said the mobile application based taxi service providers are operating without mandatory permissions. "They are operating without following both state and central motor vehicle rules. Though several requests have been made with the authorities concerned in this regard, no action has been initiated against them," he said.

Bhandary said Ola has affected the livelihood of hundreds of local taxi drivers and their families.
