Mangaluru TT player for international school tourney in Israel

Mangaluru, Feb 05, 2016: Karan Gollerkeri, a student of II year at St Aloysius Pre-university College will represent the country at the International School Games Championship in table tennis at Eilat, in Israel, from April 2 to 8.  He had, earlier, won the national-level tournament in Telangana in January.

 

His passion for the game started at the age of 12, and, since then, Karan has competed in several state-level tournaments held by the Karnataka Table Tennis Association. He has also competed in the inter-district tournament held by the Karnataka Board of Education at Banahatti, North Karnataka, and has been representing the State for the last five years.   He attributes his success to his parents, especially his father, who encouraged him all through, to pursue his dream.

Athletics bronze  : Venissa Carol Quadros bagged three bronze medals at the National School Athletic Championship recently.  She too is a student of St Aloysius PU College, Venissa represented Karnataka State at the 61st National School Athletics Championship at Kozhikode, Kerala, and secured bronze medals in the 400mtrs sprint, 400mtrs hurdles and 4x400mtrs relay.
