Mangaluru: September 25, 2015: The Karnataka bandh called by pro-Kannada organizations is unlikely to disrupt normal life in the coastal districts of the state on Saturday. The dawn-to-dusk protest is to press for implementing the Kalasa Banduri and Mekdatu projects.

But as a precaution, some schools have postponed Saturday’s mid-term examinations to Thursday and have asked students not to come to school keeping in mind safety of the children.

KSRTC officials said that none of their employees were participating in the bandh and the division will operate services if feasible. ``We will see the situation. Most long distance routes will be affected but local services to Puttur, Sullia should operate normally. Finally, we will take a decision on operating services on Saturday morning as we cannot run buses with just five or six passengers,’’ said the divisional controller.

Even private buses and autos union are not supporting the bandh with the issue not of importance to this part of the state.
