Mangaluru Sep 14, 2016: The episode of Hidden camera in ladies toilet at University college has come to an climax as Konaje Police succeded in detaining one person for installing secret camera in ladies toilet on August 24th, informed Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar.

Arrested has been identified as Santhosh (22) resident of Sullia, he was the student of IInd year MSc (Geology).

Addressing to the press at Commissioners Office today September 14 Wednesday he said that as per the complaint registered special team was formed to crack down the case and Konaje Police swung into action and detained the accused.

He also said that, there was lack of evidence first up and later 82 suspects were interrogated and after coding the ground level information, photographs were matched. After an clear observation on the gaite and the dressing style of the accused in the CCTV footage it made much more easier to detain, he added.

After installing the camera the accused was in and out of the college for 3 to 5 days and at the time of interrogation he confessed the crime, said Chandrashekar.

He informed College authorities to install CCTV cameras in Entry and Exit points of the college.

When asked about indecent comment posted in facebook he said that, we are looking for some more information and go through by all legal means to arrest the accused.

Operation was carried out by DCP’s Shantharaju, Sanjeev M Patil, ACP Shruthi, Konaje Inspector Ashok, PSI Sukumar, Constable Shivprasad K, Santhosh.

Konaje Police will be rewarded with Rs 10,000 for cracking down the case while Constable Shivaprasad will be rewarded with Rs 5000 for his hard work in busting out the case.
