Mangaluru: SCDCC Bank to adopt technology and mobile payment

Mangaluru, June 12, 2015:  Briefing media June 11 Thursday,  SCDCC Bank Chairman M N Rajendra Kumar has said SCDCC Bank is planning to introduce inter banking mobile payment system.

He added, with the help of National Payment Corporation of India through Inter Bank Mobile Payment System, a customer can transfer money from his account to another account using mobile phone. SCDCC Bank is making all preparations to introduce the service and is awaiting approval from Reserve Bank of India.

The bank has received  IIN - Issuer Identification Number from National Payment Corporation of India for Rupay ATM card. Stating that the bank had business turnover of Rs 4,536.24 crore during last financial year, he said it is expected to reach Rs 5,500 crore during the financial year.

The bank has disbursed crop loan of Rs 880 crore last year and is planning to give crop loan of Rs 1,000 crore this year. It will disburse Rs 250 crore medium term loan during the financial year. The refinance from Nabard to the DCC Banks on crop loan has been reduced to 40 per cent from the present 50 per cent. It should be increased to benefit the DCC banks, he said.

To promote dairy farming, SCDCC Bank has chalked out mini dairy scheme. Under the scheme, loan of Rs 6 lakh at the rate of three per cent interest will be given to farmers, to rear ten cattle. This includes fund for the cow shelter, purchase of cow and feed for cow.  

At the same time, the State government has introduced Pashu-bhagya scheme, short term loans upto Rs 50,000 at zero per cent interest will be provided through co-operative banks on the lines of short term agriculture loans for providing cattle feed and other maintenance expenditure.

For promoting poultry, loan of Rs 2.24 lakh per unit of poultry be given. The SCDCC Bank has decided to drastically reduce interest rates on home loans to 9.5 per cent. In fact, even rural housing schemes of the Nabard will also get loan at 9.5 per cent.

A full-fledged data centre to get complete information of 99 branches of the SCDCC Bank was inaugurated at the "Uthkrishta sahakari saudha" in Mangaluru.  The data centre will function round the clock. The SCDCC Bank and Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust handed over a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to Revathi, mother of Kushalappa Gowda who was killed at Pilikula Nisargadhama by a tiger.
