Mangaluru : Rani Abbakka Force comes into being

Mangaluru, Apr 30, 2019: Close on the heels of Udupi Police introducing Rani Abbakka Force  to deal with cases of harassment of women and children, a similar initiative has been made in Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate limits.

The Rani Abbakka Women’s Force  was launched by City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil  at the City Centre in Mangaluru on April 30, Tuesday. The Rani Abbakka Force would strive to safeguard the interests of women and children in cases of violence.

The Force comprising of 50 women police personnel will be led by Inspector Srikala. The personnel will be on duty in crowded public places like  beaches, malls and religious places to ensure women are not harassed.

DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya, DCP (Crime and Traffic) Laxmi Ganesh were present among others.
