Speaking to reporters at Arya Samaja Bhavan  here on October 12, Monday, Rai said several likeminded organisations have already pledged their support for the cause and said it was a welcome sign to note that leaders like MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary as well as Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera too have supported the cause.

Dr Rai made it clear that the protestors are not against  supplying water to dry districts but are not convinced with the unscientific method of lifting water from Yettinahole  and in the course destroying the precious Western Ghats.

Dinesh Holla, activist and leader of Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya exuded confidence of the success of the protest with the active participation of the members of the general public as well as various organisations.

Another activist MG Hegde said the protests will continue until the government drops the project. He also informed that the Highway would be blocked for two hours as part of the protest.

Dinaker Shetty,  leader of All College Students Association and activists Kateel Dinesh Pai, Shashidhar Shetty, Anand Adyar and others were present.
