Mangaluru : Public programmes, protests banned in DK till Nov 27

Mangaluru, Nov 21, 2015 : All public programmes and protests  have been banned in the district till the midnight of November 27 by the district administration in an attempt to ensure law and order. The move has been made in the wake of the recent untoward incidents in several parts of the district following the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations.


dc ibahim 2 A press communique about the orders of the Deputy Commissioner  said  there were possibilities of some organisations calling for protests, processions and meetings which may in turn give room for unnecessary confusion and tension  leading to law and order problem.


The programmes and protests have been banned to ensure no untoward incident took place, the release added.

If earlier, the   administration had imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 from November 12 night to November 15 night,  and public programmes were banned till November 20, now it was decided  to extend the same till November 27 in the wake of the report by the Police Commissioner  citing some minor incidents reported in some places, the release said.


However, in special cases, organisers have to obtain prior permission from the district administration, the release further added.
