Mangaluru : Protest against toll collection from local vehicles at Suratkal

Mangaluru, July 16, 2019: Several political leaders and representatives of various organisations participated in a protest  organised near the toll gate at Suratkal in protest against the collection of toll from local vehicles too. The protest was held under the aegis of the anti-toll gate action committee.

 

Speaking on the occasion Convenor of the Action Committee Muneer Katipalla said the agitation has received a temporary win with the Deputy Commissioner issuing a temporary stay for toll collection from local vehicles for three days.

He urged the local MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to  strive  at the central level  to ensure to fulfil the demands of the protestors.

Former minister Abhayachandra Jain, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, and many others participated in the protest.

The BJP also protested at a nearby venue against collection of toll.
