Mangaluru Police bust fake job racket, one arrested

Mangaluru, August 26, 2018: On a complaint lodged by a Pandeshwar resident, who fell prey to an online fraud promising jobs in foreign countries, the cyber police arrested the mastermind of the scam from Goa.

The arrested, Kulvinder Kumar (45) runs a company by the name of World Star Placement Services located in Punjab.

Reportedly the victim Kiran Tilabolu had been searching for employment offers when he chanced to receive a mail on November 30, 2017 about few foreign offers. Kiran who contacted the sender to gather details about the offer was informed that the placement would be in Canada. Kiran also informed him that few others, apart from him were looking for jobs and the accused promised to ensure their placement too. Kiran and the others remitted a total of  Rs 5, 96,150 through NEFT towards application and other fees.

However, later since there was no response from the accused Kiran lodged a complaint with cyber crime police station.

In the course of investigations, the police managed to identify the mastermind Kiran, and arrested him from Fort Aguada region in Goa on August 22.
