Mangaluru Nov 7, 2016: KPCC President and State Home Minister G Parameshwar has urged people to co-operate for Tipu Jayanthi celebration on November 10th. It’s a state government decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi and people need to stay calm to uphold peace and harmony in the state, he said.
G Parameshwar was in the city to attend party meeting at Congress office on Monday November 7. Speaking to reporters prior to the meeting, Parameshwar while referring to the state wide protests planned by the BJP on November 8 against the state government’s decision to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi, appealed to those opposing Tipu Jayanti not to go ahead with their protest against a government program.
He also said that, State government has tightened security to prevent untoward incidents during the Tipu Jayanthi celebration. We will not allow anti-social elements to disturb peace. Parameshwar also expressed confidence Congress will taste the victory in its forthcoming Mysuru bi elections.
