Mangaluru: ‘Pailands’ Ranga Pai is no more

Mangaluru, April 11, 2016: Mangaluru Ranga Pai, pioneering engineer and builder of the city passed away this evening at 4.10 p.m.  He was aged 73 years. The end came peacefully at his residence, according to family sources.

Born in Mangaluru on 6th February 1943, he was an alumnus of St. Aloysius School and College and studied engineering in the maiden batch of Karnataka Regional Engineering College (now NITK), Surathkal. Thereafter he founded Pailands Builders, one real estate firms in the city to promote apartments. Pailands Group promoted several other enterprises too.
 
An active industry leader and community stalwart, M. Ranga Pai had formerly served as President, Builders Association of India and Canara Builders Association and also as Trustee of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street, Treasurer of GSB Seva Sangh and as Secretary of Abhaya Ashraya, Mangaluru.

He is survived by his wife Suman Pai, son architect Venkatesh Pai and family and two daughters Divya Pai, Sathya Pai Shankar and family.

Last respects may be paid to his mortal remains at his residence, ‘Sriniketan’, Near Jogi Matt, Kadri Park Road, Kadri Hills, Mangaluru. Funeral will be at 10.30 am on Tuesday, 12th April, 2016 at Boloor crematorium.
